Like much of Canada, Montreal is a city where people like to get outdoors. At least when it`s not twenty below zero with 2 meters of snow, that is! Well, Montreal has a bike path network ("reseau cyclable de Montreal) for cyclists to enjoy this great city without the constant stress of dealing with road traffic.
It has a large network of both bike paths (ie. off-road) and bike lanes on roads, but bike lanes that are often completely separate from car traffic lanes with a median between them for added security. It is often said that Montreal is the bicycle city of North America. Like Amsterdam in Europe.
