It is always a good idea to be familiar with the route taken for your driving test in Canotek. We have posted the map below as well written as directions for the route reported by test-takers. This route is one of the most commonly taken for the exam, but it is possible you might have slight variations on the route. Driving instructors and schools are familiar with the routes and will charge you money to take you there. We figured we'd put them up for free here as a public service. Ultimately, the most important thing you need to do is learn how to take a road test regardless of route.

Written Directions

Starting at the test centre:

1. Head west on Canotek Rd
2. Turn left onto Shefford Rd
3. Use the left 2 lanes to turn left onto Montreal Rd/Ottawa 34
4. Continue to follow Ottawa 34
5. Turn right onto the Highway 174 E ramp to Rockland
6. Merge onto Ottawa Regional Rd 174
7. Head northeast on Ottawa Regional Rd 174
8. Use the right lane to take the Jeanne d'Arc Blvd S exit
9. Merge onto Jeanne D'Arc Blvd N/Route 55
10. Continue to follow Jeanne D'Arc Blvd N
11. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Jeanne D'Arc Blvd S/Ottawa Regional Rd 55
12. Head southeast on Jeanne D'Arc Blvd S/Ottawa Regional Rd 55 toward Woodcliffe Private
13. Turn left onto Orléans Blvd/Ottawa Regional Rd 56
14. Head north on Orléans Blvd/Ottawa Regional Rd 56 toward Carrière St
15. Continue to follow Orléans Blvd
16. Turn left onto Jeanne D'Arc Blvd N
17. Head west on Jeanne D'Arc Blvd N toward Paddler Way
18. Use the right lane to take the Ottawa Regional Rd 174 W/Ottawa Regional Road 174 O ramp to Ottawa
19. Use the right lane to merge onto Ottawa Regional Rd 174
20. Destination will be on the right
21. Head southwest on Ottawa Regional Rd 174
22. Use the right lane to take the Ch. Montreal Rd exit
23. Merge onto Montreal Rd/Ottawa 34
24. Turn right onto Shefford Rd
25. Turn right onto Canotek Rd
