Manny McGriperton

I have seen my future, and it's not pretty.

Seriously, I have no doubt that this is going to be me in another 30 years. Fortunately I probably won't know what's going on by that time, so I won't mind. Hey, can I bring a room down or what!

A pretty quick little illustration (about an hour & a half), drawn in Photoshop on the graphic tablet.

As often happens, after I finished the drawing I couldn't decide what to do about colors. I am terrible at picking colors and color schemes. I would be perfectly happy drawing everything in grayscale. But I want to grow as an artist, so I'm forcing myself to become more comfortable with the world of color. This monotone color palette was the runner up. I'll let the viewer decide which is better.

Here's the sketch for Manny. Normally I sketch things out on paper and scan them into Photoshop. This time I tried something new and skipped the paper, and sketched him right on the screen with a Photoshop brush. The finished piece is pretty much the same, other than a couple of proportion corrections.
